Project Profile

“Sacha’s Park – Where Everyone Can Play”

Through grants, fundraisers, donations, and with a huge community involvement, the Chenier family have built a park that will be a lasting tribute in memory of their son Sacha, who passed away on June 9th, 2014, at the age of eleven. The Chenier family was able to purchase and donate land beside their family home to build the playground at Sacha’s Park. Both the playground and splash pad at Sacha’s Park were designed with inclusion and accessibility in mind. The Chenier family chose a blue and yellow colour scheme for the playground inspired by Sacha’s love for Batman. The splash pad has a Baby Beluga theme as it was Sacha’s favourite “Raffi song.”
