FAQ's

What is the required depth for safety surfacing?

The CSA Standard CSA Z614 suggests a minimum depth of 12” of any loose fill material unless impact testing is performed.  Impact testing is the only viable method to verify that a surfacing depth of less than 12” would be sufficient based on the equipment fall height.  The required thickness of rubber will be determined by the rubber type and fall height.

Does my play space require safety surfacing?

Any playground equipment that has a fall height will require protective safety surfacing. Playground equipment that does not have a fall height will not require it.
